With more than 20 years in music under her belt, having played all over the world, Patti Zlaket switched gears and went back to school in 2006. Now a practicing attorney in San Diego, she still makes plenty of time for music.
Patti fights for justice by day – but her evenings are often spent performing her sweet, soulful brand of vocals at local hotspots such as Humphrey's Backstage, & The Belly Up. Her energy and passion make her a compelling entertainer, as well as a legal force to be reckoned with.
Not surprisingly, she finds many similarities between the two professions. “Thinking on your feet, reading a room, and having enough confidence to deal with spontaneity are fundamental to both litigating and performing,” she explains. She specializes in personal injury litigation, and also works with partners Wendy Behan and Gayle Blatt to handle pharmaceutical and medical device cases. She also recently added "stand-up comedy" to her resume, when she won the LAF-Off (Lawyers are Funny) at the House of Blues, a benefit to raise money for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program
